President

Jono Read

president@blowsoc.co.uk

mob: 07975610666

Hey, my name is Jono and I am rapidly becoming a third year music student here at Nottingham. Playing the clarinet I naturally joined BlowSoc in my first year and it is absolutely the best aspect of university life. The music we play is of such a varied standard that we can accommodate those of you that haven’t played for years as well as those of you that are used to competing in national competitions – and still show you a social scene that only a family of musicians can share.
BlowSoc has had so many years being one of the universities best societies, in terms of inclusion, high standards and events – You will never have been on anything quite like our annual European Tour – that my job this year is to try and take it to a whole new level. BlowSoc has huge opportunities for you to get involved and is of such a varied ensemble – think ‘Monster Wind Band’ to high standard Jazz ensembles – that we are in a great position to try new ideas. Don’t hesitate to come find me in the home of BlowSoc, the University’s Music Department, where I pretty much live!
  I can’t wait to meet you! x

Vice-President

Beccy Lucas

vice-president@blowsoc.co.uk

mob: 07837184866

Hey I'm Beccy, your Vice President for 10/11. I'm a third year music student and I play the saxophone and clarinet which means I am very involved in Blowsoc, and when I'm not in a rehearsal or a lecture I will probably be found in the music common room; a room which has definitely become my second home over the past two years! I am very excited to be Vice President this year, and will be responsible for organising our Freshers' Fayre stall, and generally making sure Blowsoc remains the fantastic society that it is. So please come and get involved and I look forward to meeting you!

Secretary

Alice Billau

secretary@blowsoc.co.uk

mob:07761086795

Hi, I'm Alice and I'm your Secretary for this year! I'm going into my third and final year at Notts studying music, and as I play the saxophone, Blowsoc has been my home here since day one and I've loved every minute of it. As General Sec I'll be organising the lunchtime concerts for the year along with the Mussoc Sec as well as sending you weekly emails. BlowSoc is definitely the place to be and I look forward to meeting you all!

Treasurer

Helen Jorgensen

treasurer@blowsoc.co.uk

mob: 07800887526

Hi, I'm Helen and I am you're treasurer for this year! I'm a second year music student and I play the clarinet, with a bit of piano and singing for good measure. Blowsoc has, without a doubt, been one of the most enjoyable parts of my first year here. Being treasurer I get to look after and manage every financial aspect of Blowsoc and so will probably be pretty much living at the treasury. In those times when i'm not, I shall most probably be found in the music common room, or in Mooch after rehearsals, where I shall be thinking up cunning ways of increasing our finances! Look forward to meeting you all!

Hello I'm Libby (also known as Sybil) and I am your publicity officer! I am so so excited to be publicising Blowsoc, blatantly the greatest society EVER! Be prepared to be pestered by myself for things like hoodies, T-shirts, posters and the general glorification of Blowsoc! I'm a third year music student and I play the clarinet and piano, and my karaoke skills are second to none! Remember, say it once, say it loud, I'm blowsoc and I'm proud!

Tour Manager

Charlotte Daniel

mob: 07976063805

Hello!  I’m Charlotte (or Chazza if you so wish) and I’m organising your tour for 2011.  Also known as the ‘OAP’ of the committee I am in my fifth and final year at Nottingham, currently finishing off my part-time MA in Music having also studied here as an undergrad.  Having been involved in this society for quite some time now, I can guarantee that tour is easily the highlight of the Blowsoc calendar.  As manager I will be making sure Tour 2011 surpasses even the most epic of previous efforts (and believe me, they’ve been AWESOME).  So if you fancy a week of music-making, sightseeing and well, perhaps a few beverages, then tour is the place to be!  See you there...

Ensemble Co-ordinator

Peter Cleaves

ensemble.co-ordinator@blowsoc.co.uk

mob: 07815595828

Hello! I’m Peter (aka PC), a third year chemist and this year’s Ensemble Co-ordinator. My main instrument is the Bassoon, but I try and involve myself in every Ensemble I can! The role of Ensemble Co-ordinator is to represent the Ensemble Managers in Committee meetings, and generally ensure that everything runs to everyone’s best interests. Please don’t hesitate to get involved!

Social Sec

mob: 07545474767

Big ones to look forward to include the Christmas Meal, Freshers' Bar Crawl and Summer Ball. I can't wait to see you all at the weekly socials at Mooch every Wednesday - where you'll experience Blowsoc outside rehearsals at it's best!
